The Nomophobia, the new addiction in modernity

 Introduction

IThe cellphone has been a great invention of modernity, however, this has brought with it inconveniences for the people, especially for the young people, because they have always lived with them.

Positive aspects

In this way, the cellphone has improved communication processes and teamwork; in addition, it facilitates remote work, which reduces the costs and saves time, it increased productivity levels. In the education processes, the cellphone facilitates access to information and news in real time.

Another aspect positive of cellphone is that it facilitates the location in a place thorough applications and also, now that it has a camera and video, it allows taking photos and recording.

Negative aspects

The use of the cellphone has generated a dependency; this dependency sometimes becomes an addiction called nomophobia. The nomophobia is an irrational fear of not being able to use the cellphone, some symptoms of this type the phobia are:

- Check the cellphone constantly, waiting to receive a message.

- Sleep disturbance

- Little attention to what is happening around

- Anxiety

Other negative effects of cellphone use is that it generates distraction in people, which causes accidents of all kinds, from falls, traffic accidents, home accidents, etc.

Personal view and Conclusion

From my point of view, the cellphone has been a great invention, but its excessive use can lead to more problems than benefits.

In conclusion, the technology such as the cellphone has facilitated communications, but it has also generated problems ranging from anxiety or depression. This implies that its use must be controlled, to reduce dependence on this type of technology.
